Depart from a gateway city in the USA for Athens.

Arrival in Athens and transfer to your hotel and settle in. Afternoon orientation walk around the Plaka old town district. Sleep in Athens for 2 nights.

Visit the new Acropolis Museum, then walk up to visit the Parthenon. Also walk around the new Archealogical Park, being surrounded by countless ancient ruins.

Pick up our rental vehicle and drive to Delphi and visit the Sanctuary of Apollo, the famous Archaelogical Museum, and walk the Sacred Way. Sleep in Delphi for 1 night.
JUNE 10 • • •
Drive from Delphi to Olympia, the site of the ancient Olympic Games, and visit the Sanctuary of Olympia, the Archaelogical Museum, and the Museum of the History of the Olympic Games in Antiquity. Sleep in Olympia for 1 night.
JUNE 11 • • •
Drive to Nafplion, stopping by to see Mycenae, the ancient fortress city atop a hill that was the hub of a mighty civilization. Arrive in the charming port town of Nafplion and enjoy walking around the intimate center. Sleep in Nafplion for 2 nights.
JUNE 12 • • •
Take a side trip to Epidavros, the most famous healing center in the ancient Greece world. Return to Nafplion and visit the Venetian fortress at Palamidi.
JUNE 13 • • •
Return to Athens and drop off our rental car, then get on a flight to Heraklion on the island of Crete. Settle in our hotel in Heraklion then visit the Palace of Knossos, the site of a well-preserved Minoan palace. Sleep in Heraklion for 1 night.
JUNE 14 • • •
Drive to Chania on the west side of Crete. Spend the afternoon and evening relaxing and soaking in the beautiful ambience of the waterside town. Sleep in Chania for 3 nights.
JUNE 15 • • •
Get on a private boat for a pleasant day on the sea, going to visit the lagoon of Balos and the island of Gramvousa with its ruined Venetian castle, small beach, and clear turquoise waters.
JUNE 16 • • •
Go to hike the Samaria Gorge all day long, embarking downhill on one of the world’s most famous hikes past stunning scenery, or alternatively explore the mountain villages near Chania by car.
JUNE 17 • • •
Morning free in Chania. In the afternoon, fly from Chania to Larnaca, on the island of Cyprus. Drive on to Paphos. Sleep 2 nights in Paphos.
JUNE 18 • • •
Visit the famous Paphos ruins today and have some time to drive around and explore the surrounding area including Pomos, Akamas, and Latsi.
JUNE 19 • • •
Proceed to the Troodos mountains for small villages, lovely monasteries, and cool mountain air. Stay in the Troodos Mountains for 2 nights.

Day in the Troodos mountains to hike, visit waterfalls, and enjoy the escape from civilization!

Drive to Nicosia. In Nicosia, we visit and learn about the history of Cyprus, which is split into Turkish and Greek parts. Stay in Nicosia 1 night.

Complete our sightseeing in Nicosia, and in the afternoon transfer to the Larnaca airport for our flights back to Athens. Before flying, we stop to visit the Larnaca salt flats. Upon arrival in Athens, we check in at a hotel near the Athens airport. Stay 1 night in Athens Airport.
